The next phase in the development of the Teacher Technology Literacy inventory is a field test, scheduled for late October, 2004. For the field test, a set of teachers will be selected and asked to complete the inventory and to provide information about their experience with and use of technology. We are currently soliciting participation from districts in order to obtain a sample that will be representative of the counties in Florida.
Participating districts will be asked to:
- Select a representative sample of 50-100 teachers (we will request a specific number depending upon the size of your district)
- Provide the selected teachers with access to computers with internet connectivity and the Flash player version 7 (a free download)
Teachers will be asked to:
- Complete the six sections of the inventory. (1.5 – 2.0 hours)
- Complete a short summary designed to gather information on the teacher’s experience with and attitude toward technology. (0.5 hour)
By participating in this field test, you will be providing valuable information that will be used to finalize the inventory. In addition, your district will be provided with results for these teachers, including the percentage of items answered correctly within each section and overall.
An email has been sent to FCITL members to request participation. If your district is interested in participating, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and include your name, title, phone number, and email address.
